Industrial census 1896
LOKSTAT only contains data series that were stored per municipality. The census results related to the division of the industries in Table A of the industrial census 1896 satisfy this criterion and are published on this website. The digital series of numbers are based on the original tables that take up well over 1500 printed pages and 29 million numbers.
The internet tables contain the following data for every municipality, administrative district and province:

This data was provided separately for each of the distinct industries (855 sections according to type of activity, grouped into 276 subsectors and 18 sectors). Classification of the industrial activities corresponds with the division that is applied in the census with the exception of the "special industries" sector. Due to comparability with other censuses, the companies in this last category were added to the other sectors.
Some of the data could not be copied like it was printed in the source. The results per municipality are not known for the following branches of the transport sector:
